Join us for a thrilling two-day safari in Tanzania. Day one features Tarangire National Park, famous for its rich birdlife, diverse game, and striking baobab trees.
On day two, explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the “big 5” game and the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Witness wildebeest and zebra migrations, and see Maasai livestock among wildlife.
Every Mikumi Holiday Safaris trip is tailored to your personal preferences and interests. Below you’ll find a sample itinerary to inspire your own custom-designed journey.
Our tour guides will meet you at the hotel to brief you about the trip to Tarangire, a hidden gem on the Northern Circuit. Less crowded than the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire offers impressive game viewing from July to October, featuring unique wildlife like dwarf mongoose and Oryx, though sightings can be rare. It’s also a top birding destination. The main activity is daytime game drives, with options for walking and night safaris if staying outside the park. After a day of exploring, you will head to a nearby campsite for the night.
After a delicious breakfast, you’ll depart for Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world’s premier wildlife safari destinations. This stunning volcanic caldera is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including the big five: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before continuing the game drive. In the afternoon, you’ll ascend the crater’s steep walls to return to Arusha.

We were so lucky to find Makumi holidays!
Thank you very much for this amazing experience! Very grateful to our gides Method and Shani and driver Freddy. They took such a great care of us for these 3 days. It was so comfortable, interesting and unforgettable! Everything was great: the ride, searching for animals in Makumi park, accommodation and food. Still can’t believe how lucky we were. Thank you again!
