A Tanzania safari typically costs between $300 for a single-day Mikumi trip and $4,000 or more per person for longer migration safaris. The price depends on number of days, parks visited, lodge category, group size, and season. We send a transparent breakdown with every custom quote so you see what you are paying for.
The dry season from June to October offers the best general game viewing and the Great Migration river crossings in the north. The green season from November to May brings lush landscapes, lower rates, newborn wildlife, and excellent birdwatching. Both seasons work, just for different priorities.
The northern circuit (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Manyara) is famous for the Great Migration and easy Big Five sightings. The southern circuit (Mikumi, Ruaha, Nyerere) is wilder, less crowded, and accessible from Dar es Salaam by SGR train. The south costs less per day on average and works well for shorter trips.
