Overview

This two-day safari from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi Park is brief but worthwhile; it is ideal for visitors who do not have much time but still want to see the park’s wildlife. The safari starts in Dar es Salaam very early in the morning and takes five to six hours to reach the park. Taking a game drive through the park to observe the wildlife is one of the activities.

Itinerary in detail

Every Mikumi Holiday Safaris trip is tailored to your personal preferences and interests. Below you’ll find a sample itinerary to inspire your own custom-designed journey.

1. Transfer to Mikumi National Park

At 6:00 am, you will be picked up from your Dar es Salaam lodging, and you will then proceed to Mikumi National Park. After checking into your park lodge, go on a game drive across the park to look for animals like warthogs, buffaloes, elands, lions, and hippos in the hippos pools. Return later for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

2. Morning Game Drive in Mikumi

Get up early in the morning and head for an early morning game drive in the park to search for a wild game that you could have not seen the previous day.  Later, head back to the lodge, check out, and transfer to Dar-es-Salam, arriving in the evening.
