Nyerere National Park, established in 2019, is the largest national park in Africa and part of the Selous Game Reserve. Named after the nation’s founder, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, it spans over 30,000 square kilometers and features rich wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, and the last stronghold of African wild dogs. The Rufiji River, known for its hippos and rhinos, flows into the Indian Ocean and is a popular tourist spot. Visitors can enjoy a variety of safari activities, including boating, game drives, walking safaris, and fly camping trips.
