This trip offers amazing wildlife experiences and comfortable lodges. Enjoy smooth flights from Zanzibar and knowledgeable guides who know the best spots to see the action.
Every Mikumi Holiday Safaris trip is tailored to your personal preferences and interests. Below you’ll find a sample itinerary to inspire your own custom-designed journey.
Take a morning flight to Arusha. Your safari starts at Tarangire National Park, where you can see large herds of elephants and towering baobab trees. In the afternoon, look for lions resting on rocky hills, warthogs running through the grass, and giraffes against a sunset. As it gets dark, return to your lodge and listen to the sounds of the bush as you fall asleep.
Travel through the misty Ngorongoro Highlands and then descend into the Serengeti’s vast plains. Stop at Olduvai Gorge to see where our ancestors walked and visit a Masai village to learn about their warrior traditions. By the afternoon, watch for the Great Migration, a massive movement of wildebeest and zebra.
Wake up early to see the Serengeti come alive. Watch lions hunt, cheetahs search for prey, and hippos in muddy pools. Your guide will help you track animals all day for the best views. As the sun sets over the acacia trees, celebrate another day in Africa’s famous park.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO site filled with wildlife. This is your best chance to see endangered black rhinos. Lions may rest near your vehicle, and flamingos will color the lakes pink. Enjoy lunch by a hippo pool before heading to your lodge on the crater edge for stunning views.
On your last morning, see the unique tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara. Watch baboons along the shore and thousands of flamingos take off. In the afternoon, fly back to Zanzibar’s beaches to complete your bush-to-beach adventure.
Your safari ends here.
